Tom Klammer: "The Good Soldier ... Program Update" - Tell Somebody, KKFI Radio, Kansas City

Last Tuesday on Tell Somebody on KKFI, I talked to the producers/directors of The Good Soldier, a new documentary looking at war through the eyes of five soldiers – a World War II veteran, two Vietnam vets, one from Desert Storm, and one from Operation Iraqi Freedom.

That film will be featured tonight (Friday 11/06/09) on Bill Moyers Journal on PBS – 9pm Central on KCPT Channel 19 in Kansas City – with repeats at 1:00am Saturday, and 4am and 9:30am Sunday.

The film will also have a special screening on Sunday November 15 at 2:00pm at the Tivoli Theater in Kansas City with a talk back with area veterans afterwards.

One of the soldiers featured in the film is World War II veteran Edward Wood. Ed Wood was on Tell Somebody in October 2007 talking about his book Worshipping the Myths of World War II.

I’ve posted that 2007 interview with Wood online here: Worshipping the Myths of World War II.

Last Tuesday’s show also featured an interview with Gershon Baskin, founder of the Israel/Palestine Center for Research and Information. Baskin was in town to talk on “Is Peace in the Middle East Possible?”
