"What's the Matter with Kansas?" - 10 Best Documentaries 2009 - Roger Ebert

One of the Ten Best Documentaries of 2009 opens at San Francisco Lumiere Theatre Jan 1, 2010

Dear Michael,

Great news! Legendary film critic Roger Ebert just named "What's the Matter with Kansas?" as one of his "10 Best Documentaries of 2009." We are amazed and extremely honored. You can read his full list here. Ebert notes that most of his favorite docs have not been widely seen yet, especially ours, but we will have a number of screenings to announce in early 2010, beginning with San Francisco.

The movie opens on Friday, Jan 1, 2010 for one week engagement at the Landmark Lumiere Theatre in San Francisco. Filmmakers Laura Cohen and Joe Winston will attend both evening screenings on the first two nights to take questions from the audience.

The San Francisco Chronicle calls the movie, "A fascinating and, really, heartbreaking doc... What's beautiful about the movie is its lack of judgment by the filmmakers. They just let their subjects - good people whom you like - talk. Draw your own conclusions."
