George Kenney: "Podcast interview with Dr. Jeff Short re: Gulf Catastrophe" @ Electric Politics

Dear Michael,

In a lot of difficult situations the establishment -- in whatever form it may take -- tries to play a waiting game. A version of 'hurry up and wait.' We're going to do this, wait for the next report. We're going to try that, give us a few days. Eventually people get tired of asking questions. At least, that's the hope. But my sense is that the Gulf oil crisis is different, in that people will keep on trying to find out what's happening.

To get at some of the science regarding the effects of oil on the environment, I turned to Dr. Jeffrey Short, now with the non-profit Oceana, who formerly, for over thirty years, was a scientist with NOAA. He's recognized as one of the world's top experts on oil contamination.

This is a shorter conversation, and the sound is not quite perfect, Jeff being in an airport and on his cell phone.

Nevertheless, I hope you find it informative.

As always, if you like the podcast please feel free to forward the link.

Best,

g.
