Because of the tens of thousands of our action page submissions in the last couple weeks, the mainstream media is actually talking about the prospect of blanket pardons, including the despicable act of Bush planning to pardon himself. The White House has even been forced to issue a non-denial denial, saying that Bush is "disinclined" to issue such pardons.
Oh please, how gullible are we supposed to be? And we are very sure that Lucy is definitely going to let Charlie Brown kick the football this time, really. Really.
And did you notice that Bush made a special point of pardoning TWO turkeys for the White House Thanksgiving this year? If that is not a harbinger of blanket pardons to come we don't know what is, as Bush prepares to pardon ALL the turkeys in his own administration.
And because of your voices we are actually seeing movement in Congress as well. Representative Nadler has put forward H. Res 1531,which has some really terrific text in it about the intent of the founders and how this all relates to impeachment, so there is adefinite suggestion there that a self pardon in particular would be compelling grounds for impeachment.

Yes, we are shining our light under exactly the right rock. We are talking about the planned blanket pardons, the media is taking about it, and even the White House has had to respond, albeit with their usual and expected lying head fake.
So let's keep up the pressure. Let's raise the political price so high that either the White House will be forced not to do it, or there will be real retribution otherwise.
Let's make sure any member of Congress who will not support H. Res 1531 will never be elected to any office of trust ever again.
