Families in sanctuary & supporters of the New Sanctuary Movement

The Obama administration has continued the Bush's
enforcement-only approach to immigration, leading to the

imprisonment and deportation of countless family members,

many with no criminal record, leaving the deportees’ families

abandoned. A national gathering of the new sanctuary

movement under the banner “celebrate & defend community

without borders” brought that message and their protest to

the Varick Street Detention Center in New York City.
